Dave Myers of Hairy Bikers fame has made a welcome return to British TV for the first time after revealing his battle with cancer earlier this year. Myers was a recent guest on the BBC's Saturday Kitchen alongside fellow Hairy Biker, Si King
In this post, Lordhair - a leading brand of hair replacement systems for men - will share everything about Hairy Biker Dave Myers's battle with cancer.
Dave Myers's Cancer Diagnosis
A flood of well wishes and encouragement had been directed at Hairy Biker Dave Myers earlier in the year. Dave, who was born in Barrow, claimed that since receiving his cancer diagnosis earlier this year and starting treatment, his life has become "routine".
He spoke that since he began receiving chemotherapy treatments in April of this year, his life has been so monotonous. It's only now that he has started to feel for his partner, Lil, and he would like to lead a more normal life, even if it's just by going to the bar and having one pint.
The TV chef said: “You need to break that pattern, that kind of boredom. Even if it’s to go out instead of eat at home, mid-week be reckless and go have a pizza, instead of Tesco go find another supermarket!”

Hairy Biker Dave Myers's Hair Loss
On his podcast Agony Uncles, Dave Myers disclosed that his cancer treatment had caused him to lose his beard. In the episode's video, Dave, 64, and his pal Si King, 55, are shown talking about their beards. Dave laments, "I just miss the sensation of it because your skin is different and feels nice."
Although Dave Myers hasn't specified the type of cancer he has, he did note in May that chemo was being administered. He hasn't made it known to the public even though the prognosis is positive.
While assuring fans that his prognosis was good, Dave admitted in May that he had not been feeling well and that this year would be a washout. Hairy Bikers’ Dave Myers said that 2022 hadn't been all that fantastic for him and that he hasn’t been feeling all that well lately.
Dave and Si concurred that he will likely transition into a bald biker for a while. He remarked, "It’s just something I’ll have to live with."
He calls the therapy an "inconvenience," but after 14 sessions and six more to go, he is starting to glimpse the end of the dark tunnel.
Giving a health update recently, Dave feels like he would have made it if he gets the all-clear from cancer. That will be completely life-changing, and life-affirming and life never will be the same again for him.
He further clarified the rationale for his decision to withhold his cancer type from his fans, stating: “Because everybody then goes googling, everybody becomes an amateur doctor... And I don’t want to be judged - yet.”
The Hairy Biker star Dave Myers said that he will not be filming any more episodes and not be attending any more festivals and this year’s a bit of a write-off for him. He declared that he would be taking time off work, and his Hairy Biker co-star Si King has attended several festivals by himself.
Dave had to speak out about this because he doesn't want to remain anonymous, but he would really appreciate it if people respected his privacy and let him get on with it while giving Si and his staff the assistance they require. He feels like he needs to look after himself, eat healthfully, move past this mess, flog books, and be a cheerful person.
Si King mentioned that he is a tough person to have around who will not give up easily.
'And all of us, everyone involved with the Bikers, Dave, his wife, Lil and the kids, the amount of love that comes over social media is remarkable. It's so appreciated and we loved it; thank you.'
Dave has also suffered from illness in the past after receiving a diagnosis of a brain cyst in 1998, Dave later underwent treatment for glaucoma, an eye disorder that can result in blindness.
Dave, who had previously referred to 1998 as the worst year of his life, lost his fiancée to cancer in the same year that he was told he had a cyst on his brain.
Dave has previously mentioned that he has been happy to be a “baldy biker” when going about his day. However, if he was looking for something to cover his head then full cap hair systems would be perfect for him to wear.
