He'll walk you through his evening and morning routines to help keep your toupee looking its best every day. Aaron is going to give you tips on how to maintain your hair replacement healthy and smooth. You can either watch the original video or read through the transcript below.
Steps for Nighttime Hair System Care
Step 1: Apply Hair Oil to Your Hair System
Massage some hair oil into your hair replacement before bed to keep it smooth and healthy throughout the night. Use some hair oil of your choice, either argan or Moroccan oil. Take one or two pumps and rub it into the ends to protect it from tangling. Avoid applying it directly on the roots to allow easy cleaning.
Step 2: Brush Your Hair System
The important part of maintaining a non-surgical hair replacement system is to ensure that the system is tangle-free at night. It is gently combed or brushed with a special comb or brush in one direction to avoid any hard tug on the hair. Be certain there are no knots in the hair before going to bed to avoid damage and enhance the life span of the hair system.
Step 3: Put on a Headband
Wearing a headband before bed can help secure your hair system. Place the headband around the edges of the hair system, particularly along the hairline. The following helps to absorb oils from the forehead area that otherwise would break down the adhesive during the night, which will hold the men's hair pieces firmly in place.
Step 4: Wear a Silk or Satin Sleep Cap
This is because, as you sleep, there is some friction between your hair system and the pillow that could damage your toupee. Wearing a silk or satin sleep cap will reduce this friction and, hence, prevent tangling and pulling on your hair to keep it soft, which minimizes the risk of shedding.
Morning Hair System Care Routine
Step 1: Remove the Sleep Cap
Remove your sleep cap upon waking up. If you are not going to shower, then you can go ahead and attend to your hair replacement systems by gently brushing it. But if you're going to shower, ensure that you first put on a shower cap to keep moisture away from your toupee.
Step 2: Apply a Detangling Spray
With a detangling spray, combing through any hair replacement system is easy and minimizes the risk of pulling, thus maintaining its shine and smoothness. Also, remember to use a heat protectant spray before blow-drying to make sure your hair is protected from any damage caused by the heat.
Step 3: Comb and Style
Gently comb out or brush your hair toppers with a detangling brush/combs. This will help you style your hair with much ease, but it also minimizes tangling, which promotes a long life for the hair system.
